Enrol in our online A2 C of C course with easy to follow online videos, study at your own pace, and sit your exam via video call at a time that suits you.
In order to undertake the final exam you MUST own a web camera and also agree to being recorded during the exam.
With new regulations coming into force on the 1st of January 2026 there have ben some significant changes within the Open Category. If you intend to fly a C2 class marked drone or legacy drone over 250g, you must have your CAA A2 Certificate of Competency.
There are serious benefits to flying a C2 or UK2 class marked drone as you can now fly these down to 5 metres from uninvolved people in low speed mode. This benefit does not apply to legacy or non class marked drones, these must not be flown closer than 50m horizontally from uninvolved people.
There is no practical flight assessment as you can self certify the practical element but if we have any doubt about your ability we will ask to see you fly.
There are no CAA fees and we can issue your A2 C of C immediately after successful completion of the course. The A2 C of C lasts for 5 years.
The course is run classroom style and takes the best part of one day.
